A busy couple of months for work and leisure; including multiple trips up Grains Ghyll (Borrowdale), Sourmilk Ghyll (Borrowdale) and Stickle Ghyll (Langdale) for work, and getting out rock climbing with friends to Berryhill (Northumberland) and Wainstones (North Yorkshire).

7th March 2010: Winter Climbing - Hart Crag

Another great alpine day out in the Lake District with a friend, however this time the weather was perhaps too good with the sun melting most of the ice off routes that we wanted to climb. This lead us to using our own innovation and experience to pick out routes that hadn't melted away in the sun rather than relying on the guidebook. We ended up climbing an excellent snow and ice gully, topping out in to the sunshine to eat lunch and make our way down Hartsop above How.
